Genuine Purple Jade is a hard and durable natural rock that occurs in colors ranging from taupe to mahogany to lavender-purple.  It is composed primarily of the minerals jadeite, acmite, quartz and plagioclase, and is not dyed, heat treated or polymerized. Basic composition is determined by x-ray diffraction analyses and other advanced methods.
